Name: Amélie and her agent: Whisperingtruth - Presenting The Romantic Suite
Cost: $16,765, not bad for a completely refinished, decorated, and classy room.
Description: A lovely romantic retreat bedroom suite for the young and romantic at heart. As everyone else did blues, and greens, I (Amélie) decided to do something different as I usually do and go with a romantic shades of mauve, dark mauve, light mauve, and spice brown. I refinished most of the furnishing in a dark spicy brown wood as Agnes loves wooded textures. Instead of purchasing new furnishings I chose to just refinish and reupholster most of everything. Then chose mirrors, paintings, plants, and light to enhance the atmosphere. I bought several yards of fabric to create the curtains, rugs, and bedding in the bedroom, buying in bulk saves money. I repainted the walls to have a soft mauve coloring, and added dark wood crown molding.
I moved the bed to the front of the room. First is the refinished bed, side tables, mirrors, and dresser. Also the reupholstered bedding, hanging fabric, and rug. I added the carpet to give softness to the wooden floors (which as requested was left the same).
Across from the bed in the small alcove I placed the office area. I had my construction team install big wooden windows to let a lot of light in and to open the room to the gorgeous view. I installed large flowing blackout curtains so at night the room could be private and it also adds a softness to all the dark woods. I also added another carpet here to give more softness. Also every writer needs a pad of paper and pencils/pens to jot little notes. I chose a moderate computer with the basic technology that a writer needs.
I moved the reading area to where the bed used to be. I also had large open wooden windows installed here to let in a good amount of light for reading during the day and the same type of curtains for night. I picked out a lovely bookcase that has soft curves and lined the shelves in light mauve liners for added softness. I reupholstered the love seat and added another carpet here for softness. I refinished the side table and added a coffee table, and left some reading material, the magazine I have just started inspired by this contest, as well as some other home decorating magazines, maybe she'll see something in there she wants done to another part of the house. Also added a little atrium plant holder for a little flowery touch. I also added a nice green olive tree to throw a little green in the room.
Now on to the bathroom oasis....
The first thing you see is the bathtub, which is a lovely marble finish, inside of a dark wooden base. It is in front of a newly installed wide wooden window, with blinds, and soft mauve curtains. The room is also lit by candles to give a relaxing romantic atmosphere. I installed a wooden towel rack, and bought a fluffy light and dark mauve towel set. I found two lovely paintings with the color theme I was going for and hung those up for some added romantic beauty. And last but not least a fun, and pretty rug.
I refinished the cabinets in the dark wood that is used throughout the room, and replaced the marble top with a very light white and pink marble top. Refinished the sink in a darker peachy mauve color. I added a mirror that shows three different magnifications for primping. Threw in some styling products (Agnes had none, which by looking at her I could understand, and thought I'd nudge her in the direction opposite of homelyness). I put some greenery on the counters as well to add more color, and energy to the room. And last but not least again, another rug, in a fun but lovely geometric pattern.
And our final picture shows the toilet area. I added another rug like the one in front of the sink to give balance to the flooring of the room. I installed a lovely new toilet in a more geometric square shape to match the squareness of the bathtub, and carpets, and paintings. The fountain was added for peace and tranquility, and I know the price of $1,800 seems a bit steep, but when one is laying in the bathtub with soft music on and candles lit all around, hearing a trickling fountain, the tranquil feeling is well worth the price. A hamper in wickers was also added since the woman needs a place for her dirty clothes that is out of sight. And to balance the other side of the toilet a wicker end table with a vase and cherryblossom (fake of course as to not fade or die over time) branch. Also to store more beauty supplies, and toilet paper, I installed a lovely white wooden cabinet.
looking smug at a job well done she looks directly at Agnes and reaches to shake her hand
"And Agnes, I would love to throw in an offer for you to see my hair and clothing stylist for a complimentary makeover. Just let me know when, and I'll set up the appointment for you."
Amélie does a curtsy, then spins on her heel and walks out of the room
*end of Amélie persona*
Phew!! Glad I made it. Well Bloo, I know how pink is not your favorite of colors, lol, hopefully I didn't make it too peptobismal...lol I tried to balance the wood and pink. *wince* It's just everyone else did blue and green, and well, I have to be different. haha just my personality.
So in my game for some reason in my other SSV Agnes' boyfriend is Ethan Bunch, and she lives with some chick who is just an acquaintance, which I think is kind of weird. The house does have a half finished nursery, but no baby. lol
